Faizel Bardien

Faizel was born and raised in Athlone, Cape Town. As a youngster, he excelled at athletics, captaining his school team. Faizel matriculated at Alexander Sinton High School, and obtained his B.Iuris and LLB degrees from the University of the Western Cape.

Faizel was admitted as an Attorney in 1997 and a Conveyancer in 2004. He is also an insolvency practitioner. In 1997, Faizel and his partner established the law firm Bardien & Higgins. In 2007, Bardien & Higgins became incorporated into DKVG. He is based in the Claremont office.

Faizel specialises in property law, conveyancing, property developments, and bond registration on behalf of all major banks. He is extremely well versed in all aspects of sectional titles, consolidations, and Muslim personal law.

Faizel serves as the deputy chairperson of SANZAF, a social-welfare and educational organisation that strives to facilitate the empowerment of underprivileged communities. He is affiliated to the Legal Practice Council and The Association for Black Business Rescue and Insolvency Practitioners of South Africa. What’s more, he’s the resident attorney on the weekly Legal Hour show on Radio VOC.

Faizel enjoys time with family and friends. He is a keen sportsman who enjoys running, hiking, and Fives Futbol.
